Evenings (first Tuesday of every month)
Place:

$20.00 per session
This
is an ongoing program (first Tuesday of every month) consisting of
2 ½ hour mini-lessons on specific clinical
intervention strategies. It is an open group, so everyone
is invited! While no registration fee is collected
in advance, interested participants must indicate their
intention to attend at least one week in advance by
calling 610-868-1577 or emailing
Jim@cpd3.com.
Sessions will be cancelled if less than five people register.
A different topic will
be covered in each session. The topics for each session will
be published several months in advance and can be obtained on the
internet at www.cpd3.com or
by calling 610-868-1577.
These
mini-sessions are designed for those in the helping professions
who want to expand their repertoire of clinical helping skills or
refine the skills they already possess. Suggestions for
future topics will be developed based on the specific interests of
the participants.
The
session format will be informal and interactive, so bring along
all your questions. The typical format of each session will include
a brief presentation and, when appropriate, a demonstration and skill practice in
dyads/triads. An emphasis will be place on experiencing the
interventions first-hand with ample time for discussion.
Scheduled
dates & topics:
(first Tuesday of every month)
1. Tues., July 1: "Energy
Psychology: EFT Techniques for Symptoms Relief" - Emotional
Freedom
Technique (EFT) is a mind-body therapy that often resolves
emotional and physical symptoms within
minutes. EFT integrates the sciences of acupuncture,
meridian systems, bilateral brain stimulation, and
psychology. EFT treatment is relaxing, easy-to-learn, and
has no side effects. This lesson provides
sufficient training for participants to immediately
incorporate EFT into their clinical work with clients.
2. Tues.,
Aug. 5: "Engaging Unmotivated &
Uncooperative Clients" - we are always "in relationship"
with every client, including highly unmotivated, mandated
clients. Learn to use this relationship to engage
those clients who
seem to resist all efforts to help them.
We'll view and discuss a
video tape showing the
gradual development of
a collaborative working relationship with an uncooperative,
mandated client. We will
discuss how our attempts at "helping" can
sometimes elicit the opposite of what we'd like to accomplish.
Sample
of possible topics for future consideration:
Guiding clients to deeper experiential levels, The radical
acceptance of everything, Cognitive restructuring/reframing,
Focusing-oriented interventions, Incorporating
transpersonal/spiritual elements of healing, Communication model
for relationship counseling,
Mindfulness techniques, Solution-focused interviewing/counseling, etc.
Trainer:
Dr.
Jim Strohl developed this mini-series at the request of therapists who desired additional training and practice
with specific intervention strategies. Dr. Strohl has 18
years of experience teaching Counseling and Clinical
Psychology at the graduate-level, and over 22 years training
and consulting with clinical professionals in various healthcare
settings.
Fee
payment:
A $20.00 attendance fee is collected at each session. No
advanced registration is required.
Continuing
Ed. Credits:
CE
credits (2.5 credits) from the American Psychological Association are provided for an additional fee of five
dollars ($5) per session.

APPLYING
THE LAW OF ATTRACTION
“You’ve seen The Secret, now learn how to apply it!”
The
movie "The Secret" and the Abraham-Hicks lectures and
publications have done an incredible job exposing us to the
laws of deliberate creation. However, it is not enough to
know the theories; we must also be able to apply them effectively.
Refining and practicing the necessary skills makes a world of
difference in the results we get! Also, it is much more
fun, more rewarding, and easier to follow through on our
intentions when we feel the support of friendly, like-minded
individuals.
Few know that
the "Laws of Attraction & Deliberate Creation" are based on the
scientific principles of Quantum Physics and are closely
aligned with the principles and methods of Solution-oriented
Therapy, which is currently one of the most widely used
psychotherapy models in the USA.
Drawing on this
knowledge, Dr. Strohl translates the abstract, complex
principles of the Laws of Attraction, Deliberate Creation, and
Allowing into simple, practical concepts that are easy to
understand and use in everyday life. Join us and "learn
to live the life you've always imagined!"
This is an ongoing, open group, and everyone is invited.
No advanced registration, just show up!
Feel
free to contact me for information regarding this and
other groups/presentations that are available. I offer
large and small group activities,
